Oh So Girly!

Woohoo, it's Friday! I love Fridays! Not only because it's new release day at ScrapMatters but because it's also my day to be at home. It's also usually my only night that we don't have to go anywhere, too, but this week we have Hunter's Tae Kwon Do testing. He is going for his orange tonight. I think he is a little more nervous this time than he was the first time. I'm sure he'll do great, though!

Now on to my new release for today. This past summer I took part in the DSA Designer Apprentice contest  and one of the kits I created was Girly Girl. Well I decided I needed to add some more to it! I love how this kit turned out! The soft colors of it work great not only for scrapping your little girl but also princess pictures.

If you already grabbed Girly Girl during the DSA contest you can get just the additional pieces in the Girly Girl Add-on.

A Sneak Peek

This week was supposed to be a bit slower before we get really busy with my husband and older two children start practicing every night for our church's Easter cantata next week. I got asked to make 2 cakes (my Mario one and a penguin) this week for a couple of people.. They both want them on Friday so that means the rest of my week after getting home from school will be spent getting them done. It's a good thing I got this week's new releases done early! Yep you read that right...I have 2 new releases coming out this weekend and I can't wait for you to see them.

Here is a little sneak peek at what I have coming out this Friday. Can't with to show you the rest of it!

Photobucket

I am sponsor for this week's QOS Challenge #4 at ScrapMatters. Just for completing the challenge you will receive this fun alpha from me that coordinates with my new release for Friday. Not only that but one lucky scrapper will also win a $10 gc to my store!

Photobucket

And as I said earlier I have 2 new items coming out, but you will have to wait until Sunday to see the other one. So make sure to stop by on Friday to see the full reveal of my first release and again on Sunday to see the fun new collabs that the design team at ScrapMatters have in store for you. :)

Any Year Calendar Template

Spring fever has officially set in here. I am so ready to get our camper ready, so we can do more camping this summer. Our first time out though usually isn't until Hunter's birthday in May. We usually head to the local state park for the weekend to make sure that everything is in working order and we aren't too far from home in case we need to fix something. Going to the camper shows this winter was a lot of fun and now I pretty much have it set in my mind what I want our next camper to look like. Now the fun comes in trying to find it.

My mom, sister and I took Kailee shopping for her flower girl dress for my sister's wedding this week and you would have thought we walked into a candy store. She was running from rack to rack saying "how pretty", "look at this", "ooohhh", etc. It was so cute. This is definitely my little girly girl. Unfortunately the dress my sister decided she liked best couldn't be ordered in the colors she needs, so we still haven't gotten Kailee's dress. She did get to try a couple on though to see how the one company runs for sizes in case my sister spots another one she likes. As soon as Kailee go the first dress on she ran out of the dressing room straight for my sister and started twirling around saying "Isn't this pretty?". Even after trying on the three dresses we had in the dressing room she still wanted to try on more. I just wish Michaella would be this easy when it comes to shopping for dresses. lol. With her it's like pulling teeth to get her to even just start looking for a dress.

With how fast this year seems to be going, I started thinking about Christmas presents recently and how I would really like to get at least a calendar made for the kids' grandparents this year. This in turn led me to create this fun calendar template I have for you today. The Any Year Calendar Templates are going to come in so handy to get this goal accomplished.

These calendar templates come with three sizes, so they will be perfect for however you need them. They come in 8.5" x 11", 11" x 8.5" and 12"x 12".  The numbers are on 7 different layers making them easy to use for any year. Simply turn the layer on that has the first on the correct day and then erase any extra days at the end to work for the month needed. There is a layer for both Sunday-Saturday and Monday-Sunday weeks. I've also included 20 seasonal doodles to help accent the special days. Each date block is on its own layer making it easy to customize your calendar by using different colors or papers.

Feeling Lucky

Wow, it's been a full week around here. We had our first taste of spring on Tues with temperatures close to 70! But then Mother Nature decided just to tease us with that nice weather and dropped it back down to 30 with rain and wind on Wednesday. As the saying goes around here though...If you don't like the weather just wait a minute and it will change and it did. On Thursday it was back up to about 50 degrees. The hard part about this time of year is knowing how to dress the kids for school. They leave in the morning and it's below freezing, but by the time they come home it could be close to shorts weather. And yes once it hits about 50 degrees around here the kids are begging to get the shorts out again. lol. I even just about pulled out my flip flops the other day. It's no wonder I seem to have so much more laundry to do during the spring. lol.

And with that I bring you my next mini kit in my A Year in Pictures series. I just love seeing rainbows in the sky after a spring rain. They just make me want to smile. Along with the holiday of the month they became the inspiration for my mini kit.

Sneak Peek and Some Catch-up

I finally got around to uploading the pictures from off my camera to my laptop tonight from Paul's cake. It didn't come out quite like I had wanted it. Part of the problem was the fact that I ran out of icing. I had enough to get the grass done, but not to do the details on the train. It took more frosting to get it all frosted than I had expected. It might be do to the fact that I was working with a 10" cake base instead of my usual 8", or it could also be due to the amount of layers I had. Needless to say we had plenty of cake to eat and share. It was the same amount of cake that would make five dozen cupcakes. Thankfully my parents, brother, sister & future sister-in-law came over to help celebrate. So I sent half of the base cake home with them because I knew there was no way the five of us would (should) eat all of that. lol. Paul was pretty happy that he finally got his train cake, so I guess that is what counts.

Photobucket

I can't believe it's already a week into March. We have started our busy time of the year again. It was nice to have a bit of a breather in the month of February between everything. Michaella started volleyball practice last Thursday night and is enjoying it as much this year as she did last year. They have enough girls in her grade out that they are their own team this year, so that helps. We start going to tournaments next Saturday. This year they are every other week instead of every week, so that will be nice. Hunter thinks we need to fill those empty weekend with going to Tae Kwon Do tournaments, though, so we'll have to see what kind of weekends we have coming up. I'm thinking we will wait until the end of the month after he has tested for his orange belt to start going to those.

Dance recital and competition season has also started here. Michaella's winter dance recital was a couple weeks ago and afterward Kailee has decided that she wants to dance, too. Guess next year I will have 2 dancers.   Good thing she will be old enough to start next year.

We are headed up north for competition this year. Since we will also be around several of the rabbit breeders that have the breed that Paul thinks we should get the kids to show for 4-H, I said we could maybe get the kids' bunnies that same weekend. Right now the plan is to get two of them (and yes they will be the same sex because no I do not need little baby bunnies hopping around. ;) ). We already picked up the cage for them last weekend and one of Michaella's friends said she would help Michaella litter box train them. While looking at new campers during the camper show, the kids were looking at them and deciding if they bunk house was big enough to take the bunnies with us. :O

Thankfully just this week my brother and future sister-in-law moved into their new house that is only about seven miles from our house now! My brother has already offered to take care of the rabbits for us while we are camping, so that means we don't need to find a camper that will be big enough to take them along much to the kids' disappointment. lol. Though they are super excited to have them living that close and already have big plans on being able to go over to their house and "hang out". (I think my brother is just as excited about living so close as my kids are. Of course it's not because of being close to me...It's because of Paul. lol.)

And now for what you all probably are wanting to see... :) I'm so excited to show you my next mini kit in my A Year in Pictures series, that I decided to give you a little sneak peek of it tonight.

See you on Friday with the full reveal! :)

New Releases

To help kick things off for Queen of Scrap at ScrapMatters there is a Speed Scrap marathon this weekend.  The first one starts tonight at 10 pm ET. There are two more each on Saturday and Sunday. If you complete a page for all 5 of them there is even a special prize! So what are you waiting for...

I have a little something new for you today. I previously released these date elements while I was at Scrapping Fairytales, but decided it was time to bring them to my ScrapMatters store. The great thing about these is that they are fully customize able. The circle element comes in seperate png and layered tiff or psd files making it easy to change them. You can change each of the layers with either a color fill or use papers from the kit you are using.  They are 20% off through Sun.
